PIRATES AT HOME FRIDAY AGAINST GREENBRIER

Kickoff: A look at Brunswick High’s next game: Opponent: Greenbrier When: 7:30 p.m. Friday Where: Glynn County Stadium Records: BHS 3-1, 2-0 Region 1-AAAAA; GB 1-2, 0-1 Region 1-AAAAA Last week: BHS won 65-0 at Evans. Greenbrier did not play. Last year/All-time: BHS won 21-14. BHS leads all-time series 2-1. Game Preview Brunswick will come into this one as a heavy favorite after a record-setting performance last week on the road at Evans. Against the Knights last Friday, the Pirates won 65-0 to set a new program record for the largest margin of victory by a BHS team. This took place with a running clock in the second half. Brunswick led the Knights 23-0 after the first quarter and 44-0 at halftime. Greenbrier had last week off after dropping its Region 1-AAAAA opener two weeks ago to Statesboro. The Wolfpack lost to the Blue Devils 42-28 in Statesboro. Greenbrier jumped out to a 14-0 lead on Brunswick last year on its home field, but the Pirates rallied for a hard-fought 21-14 victory. This is Greenbrier’s second season under head coach Sean Tiernan who led the team to a 4-6 season a year ago. The Wolfpack are without standout linebacker/running back/quarterback Cole Trupp who is believed to be lost for the season with an injury. He is a college prospect. ---- Compiled by Kevin Price for GCS Athletics
